ABSTRACT

In this business case, Allen Vernier, as former Chief People and Culture Officer of a Franco-Italian company will explain how how to gradually change a culture toward a trust-based ethic. Between 2017 and 2019, looking for inverting the hierarchical pyramid to put it at the service of the contact personnel, who are the real value generators and developing collective intelligence, the first step was to create a new culture and the key to this was trust. But France and Italy are known to embed more distrust than trust within the professional relationships or toward institutions. Leading by example is useful but sometimes meaningful and symbolic examples are needed. In this case, all was about unpretentious cups of coffee.
